"Maitak Sehtak" (Your Water, Your Health) Initiative

"Maitak Sehtak" (Your Water, Your Health) Initiative.

A community-based environmental initiative designed and implemented in response to the problem of wasting water and water pollution in the Al-Akhdar neighborhood, with a specific focus on the maintenance of water tanks. This problem was observed by the team of beneficiaries living in the same neighborhood. The initiative involved the implementation of a community awareness-raising campaign that benefited 500 households on the behaviors and methods of reducing water consumption. During the campaign, 150 underprivileged households (111 Jordanian households and 39 Syrian refugee households) received a set of supplies and devices to help them reduce water consumption and improve water quality at home. And they were trained on how to use them. The initiative’s supplies were purchased from small shops in the neighborhood that were negatively impacted by the Coronavirus closures.
