A community health initiative that raised the slogan "A Paramedic in Every Home" as an emergency intervention to meet the need of the people of Al-Natheef neighborhood to acquire emergency first-aid knowledge and skills to address domestic accidents. This was due to the fact that domestic accidents increased during the Coronavirus closures, which, in turn, led to increased pressure on civil defense centers and emergency aid stations in the Kingdom. The initiative involved the implementation of activities aimed to raise awareness about the importance of first aid for emergencies and accidents. Training was also provided on how to deal with the most common accidents, such as nosebleeds, burns, wounds, fractures, and blood clots, and how to provide first aid to prevent complications threatening the lives of family members and keep patients alive until transferred to a hospital. The team required the assistance of specialized medical experts to participate in preparing, designing and printing brochures on ways of dealing with emergency cases. They also implemented a community awareness-raising campaign, benefiting 850 households that received home-based training on basic first aid skills. Meanwhile, 120 underprivileged households were selected and provided with a first aid box containing basic medical supplies to deal with emergencies. The initiative team acquired the skills of designing and implementing initiatives, as well as planning and coordinating with community-based organizations operating in the area to target and reach underprivileged households.
