A community initiative implemented by three Syrian women in Al-Akhdar neighborhood with the aim of discovering and developing the talents of children and adolescents in the age group 7-12 years. The initiative’s idea was chosen based on consultative meetings organized by volunteers with mothers in the neighborhood. The initiative’s activities were centered around organizing a competition for children talented in drawing, reading and photography after holding 4 training sessions by talent development specialists. The sessions lasted for 4 days, and each was attended by 8 talented children, observing preventive measures and social distancing. Upon completing the training, the children received a bag containing tools based on their interests and talents and were invited to participate in a contest. Four children won incentive prizes in the contest. The initiative benefitted 22 households and 30 Jordanian and Syrian children, who were selected in partnership with active community-based organization in the neighborhood. The initiative contributed to enhancing social cohesion within the community.
